Internships at Sustainable Hosting

These days, it seems that jobs in technology are the only ones we can be sure aren’t going to disappear! Even if AI is taking stuff over, there still have to be people to design them, host them, secure them. A good way to start learning all of that is to intern somewhere!

You don’t have to be a college student to participate. We consider people considered “minors” as well (especially since we all got online when we were young, too, and don’t believe in penalizing people for their youth). You don’t even have to be a student in the conventional sense, either!

With the intent of re-balancing an industry that has leaned too far in unfair directions, we especially invite applications from:

  • Women;
  • Queer and gender-fluid persons;
  • Racial and religious minorities;
  • People as young as 16; and
  • People as old as 61!

Where applicable, we will work hard and thoroughly enjoy interfacing with your school or institution to make sure you get any credits and further recognition that you deserve.

Internships at Sustainable Hosting

Want to learn how the internet can run on renewable energy, open-source software, and a strong code of ethics? Our internships give you a behind-the-scenes look at one of the oldest carbon-neutral hosting companies in the world.

Why Intern With Us?

  • Hands-on learning: Work directly with real servers, WordPress projects, and green infrastructure.
  • Small team, big impact: We’re not a corporate monolith. Your work matters here.
  • Future-focused skills: Cloud, Linux, automation, green IT, sustainable business practices.
  • Mentorship: You’ll get direct time with the director of technology (yes, that’s Allen) and other collaborators.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Students or recent grads in IT, computer science, sustainability, or communications.
  • Curious problem-solvers who like tinkering and learning.
  • People who care about tech that makes the world better, not just faster.

What Internships Look Like

  • Remote-friendly: Most of our work is online, though if you’re in Belgium you might see us in person.
  • Flexible schedules: We know you’ve got classes and life outside of work.
  • Real projects: Not coffee runs. You might help deploy a WordPress site, tune a firewall, or research green software solutions.
