I founded Sustainable Hosting in 2006 with friends, and a simple idea: good websites shouldn’t cost the Earth—or your integrity. Today we’re relaunching with the same promise, stronger than ever: carbon-negative operations without offsets, privacy-first practices, and hands-on support from people who actually care.

What’s new (and useful)

Safer releases with dev → staging → live (in testing).
Updates go to a draft (dev), a rehearsal (staging), then a clean cut-over (live). Roll back if needed. Your audience experiences… nothing. As they should.

A Green-AI WordPress engine (in development).
AI as a tool, not a crutch. We’re building a WordPress-first engine that favors low-energy/local inference where possible, retrieval over your own content, clear rate limits, and an instant kill-switch. Sensible, green AI that keeps sites fast, honest, and affordable.

Meet Greener-Go (v1).
A tiny launcher that opens Google’s Web-only results (no AI Overviews) using the udm=14 parameter. No logins. No tracking. Includes a bookmarklet and “add as custom search engine” instructions.
Coming soon (v2): optional energy/water savings display and a privacy-respecting global tally.

How we’re carbon-negative without offsets

• Remote-first operations. No extra building, no commute, no wasted HVAC/lighting.
• Renewable-powered EU infrastructure. Efficiency + green power.
• Surplus solar at our base. We generate more than we consume across the year.
  We’ll keep publishing receipts and assumptions. If we change the model, we’ll say so—plainly.

• Privacy over marketing. We don’t mine your data.
• Receipts over rhetoric. Verifiable claims, published donation receipts.
• Decency over nickel-and-diming. If a payment hiccups, we talk first.

• Applies to the same plan (Start/Grow/Impact) on the same billing cycle.
• Usage over the plan’s limits may require an upgrade (your call).
• Taxes/VAT, domain prices, and third-party add-ons can change.
• Currency changes may affect the EUR/USD displayed total, but the base plan price in your billing currency stays fixed.
• If we must change anything structural, we’ll offer equivalent/better terms or an easy out with a full pro-rata refund.
